My Sewing Room - an Update

Hampir sebulan dah me tinggalkan blog nie tanpa update...sukarnya mencari masa untuk menulis sebaris dua kerana tuntutan kerja yang sangat banyak.  Dalam sebulan nie pun dah berapa kali me masuk keluar klinik, pakej batuk, selsema dan deman yang susah nak baik sebabnya hari kedua demam pun dengan badan yang masih mengigil-gigil ke pejabat jugak, terkejar ke sana sini dibawah cuaca yang tidak menentu sampai kadang2 lupa tuntutan fizikal yang tak berapa nak mampu dengan bebanan kerja.  Sampaikan driving license yang dah berbulan-bulan expired pun me tak perasan....dengan selambanyalah drive sampai ke Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang..hehehehe :-)

Ok, lupakanlah pasal kerja yang memang tak abis tu :-)..(syukur alhamdulillah atas rezeki yang Allah kurniakan)..jom relax kejap ngan my classic hobby yang hampir siap..tinggal backstitch je lagi..walaupun backstitch tapi detailed jugak kena buat.  Insyallah mengambil masa seminggu lagi.  Harapnya dapat disiapkan before me fly to Ho Chi Minh City for few days.

Butterflies Rhapsody

I had stitched these two pairs charming butterflies long time ago. The chart is from The Countryside in Cross Stitch by Christina Marsh.

Few years later, when I saw Butterfly Collection books by Cross My Heart Inc, it had whetted my appetite to stitch another butterfly chart. I also bought 110cm x 150cm wool Afghan from H&W because I plan to stitch as per book cover and I was imagined for-- a tablecloth.

My plan did not work well..*sigh* as I found the Afghan is soft like a wool blanket and the boxes are quite big, maybe 5ct or 6ct (uishhh..dah tersalah pilih type of Afghan). I then put off the plan to stitch the butterfly motiff on it and decided to go for small runner for my side table using Aida fabric. Well, this one too has been under my UFO list for quite sometimes..*wink*.

My passion for butterfly continues with fine porcelain. When portmeirion introduced their butterfly collection few years back, I had bought the dinner plate and a small bowl. What I loves about portmeirion botanic garden, you can always mix and match them and you can find butterfly at each of the design..walla!

Butterflies motif are inside and outside of this small bowls..are'nt they generous ?..I likee!

Chocolate Shoppe

Horray ! Ye Olde Chocolate Shoppe is now ready from framing *wink*. I had spent about a week for this design. I am using dmc thread and stitch on vintage linen 28ct. Lately LHN and CCN chart has become my first choice to stitch from my chart collection as it is simple, sweet and faster to complete.

Unlike many other charts such as Dimension – Oriental Splendour which I am still working on it, MP - Pots Of Flower and EMS 4 season cottage which takes me forever to finish it..(I need some motivation!)…*LOL*..and few others UFO projects..arghhh don’t want to name it..scarry to look at the list..hiksss, and rotation seems does not work at this point of time..*grin*

Home of a Needleworker, too!

Ermmm..when was the last time that I sent my finished xstitch for framing..*thinking*..maybe few years back..*wink*. Indeed, this LHN chart is beautiful and looking at it makes me feel a great satisfaction for this small achievement.

This is what I am busy at for the past few weeks. I had done this before, but just love to do it again. It's a request from a friend and I am stiching another LHN chart too..opsss..hiksss...shall update on the next entry.

I managed to stitched this sweet and cute design by LHN in one week, in between baking a cookies for Chinese New Year order, office works, house works and tatting..LOL..seems that I fully utilize my multitasking skills which I have not been practising for sometimes after finishing my study. Actually, when I am worried about something, I will make myself really busy so that I will not keep thinking and worrying about it or else, I am afraid that my panic attack will come back. I have not experience any attack for the past 2 years. I dont like taking any pills and my own way to overcome this problems is just exercise and it helps a lot...opsss stitching too *wink*.

Here is my tatting progress as a beginner..*blush*..Ihanks soo much to Fauziah/Dania's mom for her guidance and time, shuttle and thread (very kind teacher). Will make full use of it until I can flip and picot smoothly.

Yay !..Finally JE Friendship Sampler -SAL is done and I really love this beautiful chart. To all my stitching frens, thank you for participating on this SAL and may our friendship continue to blossom. Glad that I managed to finished it this week as next week will be busy with family gathering and our old friends from Finland will be in Kuala Lumpur for a holiday. We will bring them to Malacca and Putrajaya for sightseeing and Petaling Street for shopping spree..*wink*

Cross stitch, Hardanger and Ribbon Embroidery

Hello All,

Here is my SAL Update *blushing*.., I did not progress much since last month update. Still need to fill up the blanks with appropriate colors and stitches. I can foresee slower progress in the next three months. Nothing much can be done to squeeze more time for my stitching hobby. Workload is getting heavier with few crisis that need immediate attention and both DD will be having an important examination which is just around the corner. I am very happy to see all of our SAL members progress. Congratulations to all my SAL buddies and happy stitching the next shelf.

Look, what I had bought from MPH Midvalley today.*smile*. I had no intention to spend on books or magazine for this month, but when I saw the SALE BANNER, 20% off for members, I cannot resist and found two books in my wish list, so I just grab it..A beginner guide to Hardanger by Jill Carter and A Beginner Silk Ribbon Embroidery by Ann Cox. I love both of it. Explanation and illustration is simple and easy to understand..but..do I have time to do it..One fine Day..I will..*wink*

Stripes Case

This mobile phone case pattern featured in Cross Stitcher Magazine August 2006. I'm stitched on Aida Band 3 inch/14 ct bought from Craftworld and using DMC floss. Glad that Min loves it, only a small goodies..*smile*.

Naïve Stitch

That was me – because that was my first xstitch project. Those patern are countryside view but I forgot the publisher as the book is no longer with me. I remember that I never like sewing or stitching anything during my school days. I used to teased my sister who loves to do xstitch as a wasting time hobby. That was me –long time ago and my perception is, a reading story books or novel brings more benefits rather than stitching the pattern printed on the red paper. Now, looks who is crazy stitching and stashing and I laugh at myself..so does my sister..*LOL*.

Sampler

When I was in the mood of stitching the sampler design, I had stitched few design. Above are the Chart & Charms and Country Kitchen Sampler. I am not really happy with the mounting board colors, however it was already framed *sigh*. Sometimes we let the framer to decide what colors that is suitable, but we must remember that what they think does not means same with our expectation.

The Dragonfly Scroll

I started to stitched another kit by the Dimension Gold much later than my Brilliant Butterly. However, I am completing it earlier. Its quite simple but really pleased my interest on the oriental design.

This is my latest finished project. It is the longest project I ever done..took me two years to finished it. Yes..it requires patient to work with blending filament cotton and gold, it need patients to stitch the backstitch for the background and my eyes not that sharp anymore as I am getting older. .LOL. This is the Brilliant Butterfly Kits by Dimension Gold.

I stitched this Pooh & Friends Pattern long time ago. These pattern are my doters favourite characters.

Tea Cup

I always love a fine porcelain. I admire the fine workmanship, quality and the flowers..its beautiful. My passion also makes me to stitched the 2 pattern from the 4 design available in the TeaCups leaflets published by the StitchWorld xstitch. The top pattern called Blue Rose and the bottom is the blue grapevine.
