Bismillah

Alhamdulillah wa syukrulillah the water supply has been returned to normal supply. No more water rationing for every two days.  What a relieved *phew*.  DD said this rose cutting design by Christie Repasy is a long lost project, but I must say that it went for hibernating for some times.  I managed to stitched few boxes a day to keep it moving to the finishing line and not to stay in my UFO list. Like my lil sis said in malay proverbs " Sehari selembar benang, lama-lama menjadi kain. so me tukar pulak sehari dua lembar benang lama-lama duduk la dia dalam frame *muahahaha*

Half stitch is one of the easiest stitch, but I don't like it as I can easily miscounting the number of stitches and re-counting is time consuming *wink*..sebabnya adalah mim alif lam sim nak menanda padahal marker tu ada sampai 3 *hiks*.

miahahaha, kan Cikgu Besar dah bersuara *hiks*  psttt..live dangerously only in stitching but not in real life *sigh*.  Till next entry, see you when I see you.  Take care and have a beautiful day ahead.

Boutures de rose

Salaam and Hello Readers :-)

It has been more than a month without craft update.  I am taking a short break from craft activities and simply loves to stretch the break longer *wink*.  I knew that I have a long list project that need my attention especially orders from customer that need to be delivered before the month of Ramadhan, but the procrastinate light is "blinking".  Someone is needed to knock my head *sigh*..wake up Salmi..wake up..

Allah answered my prayers through Daood Butt When I read his quotes at facebook: 

If you want to achieve something big (like writing a thesis, hehe) but find it hard and keep getting distracted...

...try dedicating an just an hour of your time everyday towards it!

You'll be surprised how a little time goes a long way!

Now turn the thesis into a craft project *wink*

Yes, I agree with him.  I cannot delayed my pending projects any more.  I need to be disciplined in my time management.  Suddenly, I feel motivated and decided to resume this cross stitch project before I'm embark on my Ribbon Embroidery Project.  This is to tune my mode of thinking from operational issues, numbers and bottom line result that gives me a lot of pressure.  I am not doing sewing on full time basis, it is sometimes difficult for me to have the imagination, trial and error in this imaginative craft when my head is full of office problems *sigh*.  

RE need a lot of thinking especially on flowers an colour selection.  You may overcome this problem is you do it frequently.  Unlike me, when I am occupied with office works, houseworks and baking orders..the important of design, flower technique and colour imagination simply temporary disabled..hiks.  Different people have different ways in doing their work.

O' Allah, thank you for the rain today, Allahumma soyyiban nafi'a (Ya Allah jadikan ia hujan yang bermanafaat - HR Bukhari). We adore the beautiful flower, but never forget the creator who creates this wonderful roses.  Segala puji-pujian dikembalikan kepada Allah atas ciptaanNya.

My Rose Cutting

hew..hew..hew.."big smile"..I had launched a new project..uhummm..simply cannot resist this pretty Rose Cutting design by Christie Repasy and dimension had produced it into a cross stitch kit.  Well, it's normal for a cross stitch fan to launch many project at one time..hiks and me is one of them.  I believed my stitcher friends will agree with me and I do envy nisa the ardent stitcher who had complete many beautiful cross stitch project :-)

I dont have any target date to complete this design as I only stitched when I am free and usually at night.  It is almost 50% complete and it will be framed.

This is another design in my wish list.  A rose sampler from a Japanese Cross stitch book.  Me malas sikit nak jahit sampler atau any design yang tak di framekan sebab over the years nanti because of the smoke, or apa2 spray stained especially ridset la, mortin la, lum lagi habuk2, asap2 ekzos kereta disepanjang Jalan Ampang tu akan melekat kat fabrik tu..hehehe..tapi cantikkan :-)

My one and only red rose.  It has been in my garden for so many years.  The only rose yang bertahan till today, for all my readers - thank you so much for you time visiting and reading my blog.  I appreciate it very much.  Till next entry, have a nice day ahead :-)

Chart and Charms - Sewing Room

Salaams and Hello everyone :-)

Short entry about my current cross stitch project - chart and charms "sewing room" which I had been stitching for the past two weeks. The internet line in my housing area really gave me a bad headache where the line are intermitten, often loss in connection and make me feels like I am using a Jaring dial-up service 15 years ago. I have to wait for ages to upload only three pictures and it is really a time wasting. Based on my personal experienced with Unifi which I am subscribing for my office, only make a little different where Unifi delivers faster downloading, as for browsing is it almost an equal speed with my current Streamyx subscription..duhh, enough complaining about streamyx and lets move on to my current project *wink*.

I had sewn this cute and adorable design (because of the charms and detailed stitches) many years ago and this time, I am stitching this for a friend..I thanked her for her patience in waiting me sewing this design for her.

My goal is to complete this pieces in mid of March and hopefully I will meet the deadline that I had set for this project.

Joan Elliot Friendship sampler

Revisited.

Salaams and hello my blog readers :-). This is my 3rd time stitching this piece. Never get bored. How can I ever get bored as all the motif are my favourite - teacup, teapot, saucer and lace border..simply pretty!

"While the pot boils..Friendship Blossoms". Even though some of my stitching friends is no longer active in blogging world but we still keep in touch in FB :-), the friendship keep blossoms :-)

I try to set the deadline to finished it in this month..my HOPE and need to put more effort since my dear friend has been waiting for too long..thanks so much for your understanding :-)

Can't write much as I need to continue my sewing. Till then, take care and loads of love.

Quilt for All Season

I always admire Paula Vaughan painting works which has been adapted into cross stitch pattern under the publication of Leisure Arts. Her romantic painting imaged always captured my heart. Among my stitchers friend, kak ros is known to stitched many of Paula V cross stitch pattern.

All of Paula V collection usually detailed about the romantic and sweet victorian life scene inside or outside of the home such as bedroom, patio, garden and living room. I like her painting featuring a lovely wedding gown or dress, and quilting works.


I have bought for myself one of her book called quilt for all season featuring a collection of 12 cross stitch designs celebrating the Patchwork Quilt. All of the design are sweet and makes me feel that I want to stitch them all...greedy me *wink*


When I read at KakDee blog entry that she had started the Paula V quilt of all season cross stitch pattern for the month of January, suddenly the feeling of *menjeles* say hello to me..ha ha ha (mulalah tu) ..I rummaged my "stash" cabinet and found *FEW*..oh my *wink*, nicely folded (UFO) of the Paula V pattern which I had done half way on most of the pattern. Suddenly, I gained the motivation to resume the UFO..*sigh* oops !..not until I finished the few order from my close friends before they got mad at me for making them waiting for so long..*sigh*


Other than cross stitch, Some of Paula V quilt design has been adapted into quilt project. I bought Paula V romance with quilt book from Ebay (like I have so many free time to do it *wink*) since it was so expensive here. Don't know when to start the quilting project but I have seen one nice lady is doing the below pattern at Quilt Gallery..its beautiful..and it was 70% handstitch *sigh* by her.


Kakdee and shima keep up your wonderful progress as an inspiration for me to resume my UFO project.

Fleurs De Paris - An Update

Hello and Salaams to Everyone

Agak lama jugak me tak berkesempatan nak update blog nie. Bulan May adalah bulan yang paling sibuk dengan bermacam-macam urusan terutama urusan keluarga. Masa nak berkraft pun sangat terhad dan mood nak menulis pun tak berapa nak ada. Kadang-kadang bila dah penat, malas sungguh nak pegang kain dan jarum. Rasa happy jer bila dapat tergolek terlentang depan TV..hahahaha.

Fleurs de Paris nie pun sangat lambat me jahit. Me rasa macam warna kain vintage linen nie menenggelamkan warna2 benang yang agak lembut nie. Fabrik dalam chart menggunakan material Aida cream tak silap me, tulah suka je main tukar2..hehehe..suka tak suka, kena continue..kata nak shabby2 kan..konon lah..hiks.

Part tulip tu la yang paling bosan..sbb me dah pernah jahit bunga tulip yang kat bawah nie. Kaler bunga dia pun lebih kurang sama kan. Peten nie dah lama me siapkan..sebaya dengan usia my 2nd doter.

Cup and Saucers

Salaams and hello to all my friends and readers,

Move on to my next WIP - cup and saucer cross stitch by design works. I had completed the wording and the lace part, leaving me to work on the cup and saucers plus the multiple heart shape for the background. I don't have any problems working on this chart but I had purposely create a problem for myself..hahaha :-)

I knew from the beginning that the length of the Aida fabric which I plan to use is not sufficient to accommodate the whole design nicely. I will need to extent the fabric length by joining it with another Aida fabric should I want to proceed with the existing fabric.

I could not find any information from Mr Google about how to do it, so it is up to me to make it happen - my way *wink* for -- unnoticeable and smooth join. After some thinking and experimenting, I took the plunge to join the fabric, something which I never done before with a precaution that I must carefully join the pieces so that the row of threads are in the straight line.

Obviously..you can still noticed the joined *wink* but since it was almost at the end of the chart, I think it is not so obvious and acceptable to me...hahaha..ye ke?..we shall see the final result after framing.

Oriental Spledour - an Update

Since the S-A-L launching, I had a slow progress in stitching this pieces. The 16ct box is quite small for my old eyes and sometimes I am having difficulty to find the small holes for another half stitch to go through especially in a row of the cross-stitched. Less patience may prompt me to switch to bigger count of fabric but..takkan nak membazirkan benang, masa dan kain...so need to stitching with a slow dance tempo *wink*.

Life is Fragile....and Lucky

Opsssss...I have been infected with launching bugs...haiizzz..closed my eyes, I don't want to count my WIP and just hope that at least 70% in the list will be finished..hahahaha..what to do, I just can't refrain myself from stitching this beauties..anything about teacup and teapot will make me happy..good for my stress therapy..*wink*

For this chart, the teacup design is not detailed as my previous teacup project thus I have a smooth stitching journey and of course with the help of Aida fabric makes my stitching life easier. Kak reen..wanna join me to SAL this piece? *wink*

On tatting project, I am currently working on this lovely lucky clover design. I have been tatting this doily about a month already :-)...as I am having a problem when working with a long chain. The size will be about 10 inch since I am using a flora no. 20 thread...can't wait to finish it soon but I have few RE cushion that need to be sewn and completed.

Stich ALong Oriental Splendour

Salams and Hello to all my frens and readers :-)

I am delighted when Alynn had invited me to Stitch ALong an Oriental Splendour (OS) designed by Lena Liu. I bought this kit by Dimensions many months ago, and the progress is standstill since....ermm....I cannot recalled when the last time I had stitched this piece as I have numbers of WIP's and UFO's (*blushing*). I think I should go on diet too..not only on stashing but launching a new project until all pending items in my sewing cabinet completed.

The rule is very simple as only two person involved. We just update each other at our personal blog every two weeks so that we can motivate each other to complete the stitching within the ermmmm...what is our agreeable target date to finish alynn?..can we target by end of June?..hurmmm can I..lets just put the date first and we see how is our progress :-)

Fleur ~ de ~ Paris

Bonjour! comment allez-vous (Hello! How are you?*smile*)..amboi, sejak stitching chart with the essence of Paris, tershashul cakap french pulok..ahaks.. Wahhh feel so lazy to update blog lately..I have relish hibenating like a polar bear *ggrrr*. Fleur de Paris is my latest wip. It is a kit by dimensions that came with coloured chart, aida fabric, cotton threads and needle. It is a standard checklist that usually comes in a kit.

If you happen want to purchase a cross stitch kit, do check these items availability. One more thing, nowadays in ebay there are many charts are made in china ~ please be aware on the fabric and thread quality plus chart originality. Credits to my BFF (luv you kak reen) who had introduced this chart to me..I am in love at the first sigh (ermm semanjang tengok online chart camtu *wink*). I love the varieties in this chart which harmonizes perfectly ** que c’est beau**

I had substituted the Aida fabric with 16ct autumn vintage linen for a more dramatic shabby chic background and using the cotton thread by dimensions. No worries if you are out of thread as you can always ask for additional thread by sending email to dimensions and they will mail it to you - free of charge.

Next, sitting on top of my priority list -- that need to be completed in two weeks time (mesti..). I have planned to personally deliver the chart to a special friend that I had kept her waiting for so long – very bad of me *sigh*. So sorry dear!

Last but not least, nak tayang..ehhhh..share la..my 2 ketul collection wall hanging tapestry. Satu me hang kat living room satu lagi kat master bedroom. Sometimes, untuk kelainan me tukar2 kedudukan dia untuk pemandangan dan mood yang berbeza.

Ribbon Heart

This heart shape ribbon embroidery is meant as a wedding gift for my beautiful niece who is going to tie a knot on the New Year's Day. Their theme color is white and gold and I have to take out all my ribbon stash from my treasure box to select the best color combination. This design use a basic technique which is fast and fun to do such as ribbon and straight stitch, french knots..and stem stitch..arghhh I hate stem stitch because I still cannot make it looks smooth..grrrr..

Will assemble this as a cushion cover. I am now working on the second piece (hurmm..suddenly I remember iteww princess called tena and shahirah as pieces instead of person..*LOL*..we missed you, Bebe D).

Take a Bow

I don’t exactly remember when I started this bow project, it has been left to “hibernate” comfortably in my drawer for many moons *LOL*. I purposely left this project in my office so that I can stitch it during my lunch time, however I don’t have time for it since I seldom had my lunch break thus the progress is very very slow. Better continue to stitch it before it’s start to mereput..*wink* . Need to get back to my work…Daaa

It‘s show off time ! *wink*…another CCN is on the way. Ermm, I love every single character in the chart except the DMC thread alternatives suggested in the chart. The alternatives thread makes the end results looks pale to me as compared with the picture shown in the chart. Anyway, will continue with the available thread and hopefully it will looks better when completed.

I thot with the alternatives by DMC thread, I can save a bit since CC thread is quite expensive and its not available here. I will have to place order with Joanna in Singapore and needless to say that I am pleased with her service since I received all the threads in 3 working days.

Btw, I had finished my needlworker (too) and I will upload the photo once it is frame.

Thread - Crescent Colours

Blink ! Blink !. It’s November and school holiday is just around the corner (Yay !). School holiday means less traffic jam and I can enjoy smooth ride to my office or site office. When the children are at home, they will eat more than usual and we have to stock up snacks, fruits and some instant food. DH will have to cook more since whatever he cook in the morning will not last till dinner *wink*.

On my stitching front, suddenly *wink* my hand is so itchy to stitch the lovely chart by LHN. I had actually, bought LHN and CCN chart from xstitchjoy during their sales in June. I personally found that LHN and CCN had wide selection of simple and sweet chart which takes shorter time to do and I am spoiled for choice *LOL*. Hopefully, I will able to finish it by this week so that I can move on to my tatting the 24 snowflakes challenge..Arrghh..hope I can still remember how to read the tatting chart..*LOL*

P/S: Ermmm itew orang bila nak update nature beauty…jgn peram lama2 taw..kalau tak cukup lampu neon..nanti me pergi pinjamkan spotlight....jangan maraaa…lariiiiiiii..

My Spring and Autumn

Hai!, Friends and Readers

How is your stitching or sewing progress for the first 6 months? I hope that everybody make some good progress on whatever stitching/sewing project that you are currently into. Time flies very fast and it’s July already *wink*. For the past two weeks, I don’t spend much time on stitching or tatting. Over the weekend, I am busy sewing a new curtain for my house and on weekdays even busier with work commitment – since we had a major renovation at our existing office and hiring a new staff and trainees for our sites office.

My staff and DH have to travel outstation during the renovation period and leaving me alone to supervised the renovation works. To make thing worst, our building elevator is not working and the contractor need to carry all items up to 4th floors and it tooks them half day to do it. My mind is messy as much as my office condition at that time ~duh~

Since DH is away, I have to rush home to cook for dinner and send all my children for their tuition class, leaving me a little time slot to breathe. I’m already tired by 11:00 pm after fetching them from their tuition class. Usually, I will prepare a mug of coffee so that I can keep awake a little longer to catch up on some stitching or tatting but I fall asleep after halfway sipping the coffee *LOL* sound exhausted rite?

On my EMS four season stitching diary, I have high hopes to complete it by its 2nd anniversary which is this coming August. Sometimes, a bit ~ sakit hati ~ *grin* to stitch on this small count aida. Not so much area that you can cover compared to stitching on bigger count. I may spend an hour stitching this piece, but only managed to cover a small area. Patient is needed to complete it *wink*.
