Kepak Ayam Goreng Thai

Salaam and Hello everyone :-)

Duhh..kejap jer kan dah masuk hujung Februari *wink*..and school holiday is approaching in March..rasa macam baru jer cuti. Kepak ayam Thai nie, is our favourite recipe and easy peasy to do. Prepare dulu bahan2 rempah and perapkan selama satu malam is better or as suggested in the recipe is 6 hours atau paling sekejap pun dalam 1 jam. Lepas tu terpulang pada kita nak goreng, bakar atau grilled semua pun boleh belaka :-)

Jom semak resipi dia :

12 Keping Kepak Ayam
5 cawan minyak masak

Bahan Pemerap (dibancuh)
3 Akar ketumbar, dikisar halus-halus
3 Ulas Bawang Putih, dikupas dan dikisar halus-halus
1 sudu teh serbuk lada putih
garam secukup rasa
3 sudu besar sos ikan (nam pla)
1 sudu teh kicap pekat
1 sudu teh serbuk perasa (me guna 1 sudu besar sos tiram)
1 sudu besar gula kabung yang dihancurkan atau gula perang
1 sudu teh kicap manis (me tambah)

Sos Celup (dibancuh)
60 ml : 1/4 cawan jus limau nipis
60 gram : 1/4 cawan gula
4 ulas bawang merah, dikupas dan dihiris nipis-nipis
60ml : 1/4 cawan sos ikan (nampla)
1 sudu besar cili serbuk
1 sudu besar gula kabung yang dihancurkan atau gula perang

Cara

1. Gaul kepak ayam dengan bahan pemerap rata-rata dan disimpan dalam peti sejuk selama 6 jam
2. Panaskan minyak dan goreng terendam kepak ayam hingga masak. Hidangkan dengan sos celup

Resipi kepak ayam nie me ambik dari buku Azrah Kamala Sashi - Selera Sajian Thai. Biasanya kalau bulan puasa, rajinla me menyelak buku nie :-).

Till next entry, take care everyone..me nak sambung siapkan Chart and Charms *sewing room*..stay tune for the update. .x0x0

My Inspiration - Ribbon Rennaissance

Salaam and Hello, Readers :-)

Entry kali nie agak ringkas sebab me adalah mode dalam kebizian and at the same time cam tandus fikiran nak mengarang dan tangan yang lemah longlai nak menaip entry blog..hikss..somehow cannot think straight sebab semua schedule pun harap otak yang simpan and remind..ermss..I should write it down but somehow rasa bila menulis tu lagi melambatkan dan mengambil lebih banyak masa.

One of my favourite ribbon embroidery artist is Helen Eriksson. I admire and adore all of her ribbon embroidery. I bought this book 4 years ago from ebay. I managed to bid for good price as it is used book but still in mint condition. The biggest drawback when you purchased book from ebay is the shipping cost. Furthermore, it is a hardcover book and surely the cost is about 3 times than the book price *wink*. But the content is worth every ringgit spend on it *wink*

Beautiful peonies being framed. This design is in my wishlist but I don't know when I can embark on this project. Look at the dancing petals *wink*.

Another lovely pieces, with a sweet color combo. Really loves the combination of lace, beads, thread and ribbon embroidery. A harmony combination that has been inspiring me in sewing the ribbon embroidery design.

Simple but colorful cushion with Posy of Pansies. A variety of ribbon is used for this project. Helen's book came with a text instruction and to me it is a little drawback as I need to read it few times to really understand the instruction *sigh*.

Till next entry, take care and hugs :-)

Dancing with Rose Petals

Salaams and Hello Readers ~xoxo~

I am back to Ribbon Embroidery master class again..I am attending the refreshing class just to recap for what I had learned from my first class in 2008 and last class in 2009. I had few session with Pn. Norehan, the founder of Kelopak Gallery during the period and after that, I did not practice much using the ribbon size 1 inches and above since most of my customer requesting a small flower using either 3/8 or 5/8 ribbon size for their pillow and bed runner.

A session with Pn.Norehan is not focusing mainly about the type of stitches but emphasized on petals position and target...hihihi..now it reminds me about market positioning and target market*wink* .

We are also exposed to manipulate and combine few type of ribbon embroidery stitches to produce a beautiful roses. It looks simple but it does not *sigh* as we embroider a ribbon with a story to tell.

Finally, I managed to finished the homework, I personally feels that my design is neat rather than it should be a bit loose and more natural..hiks..see ! commenting is easier than to sew it..*LOL*.

Till next entry, take care everyone @hugs@

Laduree Vanila Eclairs

Salaam and hello to all my readers *smile*

Thanks so much for your time visiting and reading my entry, I appreciate it very much :-). Laduree Vanila Eclairs nie memang sedap, tapi seksaa..(hiihii..pinjam ayat CMG jap)..yang susah nak buat biskut topping untuk choux pastry tu..this is my 2nd attempt to bake this Laduree Vanila Eclairs. First attempt, me guna superfine flour sebab resepi tu stated to use cake flour, tapi since me tak jumpa cake flour yang takde serbuk penaik, me guna jer superfine flour..end up 1 daripada 2 tray choux pastry tu tak boleh guna sebab dia jadi sangat2 melekat dan susah nak angkat bila dah masak walapun me guna parchment paper.

My 2nd attempt, the choux pastry is much better sebab me guna tepung gandum biasa. Tapi still fail kat part biskut topping tu sebab bila dah potong2 ikut saiz eclairs dan sejukkan lama dalam peti ais still susah nak angkat letak atas eclairs yang sudah di paip..dia jadi pecah..something wrong somewhere sebab kalau lapisan biskut tu tebal, nanti puff pastry yang dah masak akan jadi leper abis dan tak bulat mcm dalam link yang me refer tu. Anyway rasa dia memang sedap esp the filling ! we love it.

Friends and readers yang nak mencuba boleh refer dekat sini yer..siap dengan photo step by step : Laduree Vanilla Eclairs

Salaams and Hello my blog readers :-)

It was another long weekend and we are busy with family event and crafts activities. It was a productive public holiday for us *wink*. Since DD Sara is on semester holiday I suggested her to enroll for a bag making lesson at Yee Button, SS2 PJ for 4 hours class with fee of RM100 excluding the materials. We can opt for 2 hours class wit fee of Rm50, but considering that she is a beginner and never use the sewing machine, 4 hours will be ok for her.

I purposely pick a medium difficulty hobo bag for her to sew, so that she will learn few sewing technique like sewing the bag lining with interfacing, zipper and open pocket and sew the crochet lace on the fabric surface Once she acquiring this skill, it will be easier for her to attempt making a much simple bag.

The hobo bag interiors, quite spacious for her to carry personal belongings. According to Sara, sewing the zipper pocket is the most difficult part for her as she had to undo the sewing for few times. I am glad that the teacher is very helpful, patience and not easily pleased with the student result. She asked her to undo it few times for a better finishing.

Back view of the hobo bag with pleated at both sides. It measures about 9.5 inches height excluding the leather strap and 14 inches width. Overall I am happy with her as she managed to complete the bag lesson within a given time. She also happy with her personal achievement. You never know until you try, sara :-).

Till next entry, take care and have a nice week ahead.

Rainbow for the boys :-)

Salaams and hello everyone :-)

Happy New year to all my Chinese friends - Gong Xi Fa Chai. It was a long holiday that continue from weekend till tuesday and school is closed for one week however we decided to enjoy our holiday at home since DH need to finished his proposal by this week and I will need to do some sewing and spring cleaning from the temporary mess that was due to the baking activities that happened a week before Chinese New Year - thanks to all my loyal customer who have been with me for almost 10 years *hugs*

I baked the rainbow cupcakes (refering : martha stewart website) as a CNY gift for my neighbour and for my SIL who is recovering from the road accident. From the ingredient it produced about 30 pcs cupcakes and I am using a fresh cream for the icing. Vee is a very nice neighbour who has a good sensitivity and understanding of her muslim neighbour. Every year she will distribute a hari raya hamper to all her nearby muslim neighbour and whenever she had a gathering occasion that involved muslim neighbour, she will order a halal food from a muslim caterer. Her sons brandon and bryan are two adorable and talkative kids who can converse fluently in malay eventhough both of them went to english/chinese medium kindergarten. I hope that they like is as much as they enjoy my red velvet cuppies.

Till next entry, take care and enjoy your holiday

Bouquet of Roses

Salaams and Hello everyone :-)

Happy 2012!..wow 1st week of January in 2012 already gone and how is your new year's craft resolution *wink*..to me nothing changed but I am challenging myself at least to make a small progress on every pieces of xstitch which is in my UFO list, so that I can hang something new on my wall of fame *wink*. My existing framed xstitch, some of it had shown sign of aging with dots of brown spot scattered everywhere (sama macam tuan dia jugak..aging gracefully *hiks*) and the new view on the wall can help to up lifting and motivate my lazy mode smile*.

Ok, let me story about the bouquet of roses, a design adapted from The Romance Of Ribbon Book by craftworld same design with the Aliah's pillow which I had done before. I did some minor modification from the previous pillow, since I don't have any more available two tone ribbon color in my ribbon stash, I need to order it from ebay, thus took quite sometimes for it to arrived causing delay on the stitching progress, it took me more or less about 3 months to sew it as I am not doing it on full time basis, I only stitched when I have free time and usually my customer understand my constraint and they willing to wait ~ thank you so much :-))

For this pillow, I am practising my thread embroidery skill with simple fine sprays using bullion stitch, not so difficult actually, hurmms..one of my goal this year is to refine my bullion stitch skills :-)

Soo relieved to see the three pieces of pillow finally done and I can feel part of the responsibility has been lifted from my shoulder *sigh* and I can move on to another stitching project.

Till next entry, take care everyone. May we have a productive 2012 producing many beautiful crafts and inspiring each other. XOXO

Fruits Pavlovas

Salaams and Hello everyone *smile*

Tengok kat blog rima and CMG memang terguda nak buat Pavlova nie, tapi nak cari mood jer nak buat meringue nie sebab kalau kepala tengah mereng dengan kerja yang banyak, sure meringue pun mereng jugak nanti hasilnya..hehehehe..and that is why my pavlova kaler are tanned sebab terlebih jemur dalam oven..hikss..

Egg Whites tu dah lama me simpan dalam fridge, adalah sebulan lebih gitu..selalu me buat agar-agar gula hangus, putih telur tu tak guna, so me simpan..ingat nak buat macaron tapi rasa sentap lagi sebab dah 3 kali attempt tak jadi2 pun..so me pun tutup kejap project macaron tu

Since semalam me keje half day, me pun terus lah membaking meringue nie, terlupa pulak nak bajet time that I should finished it by 8 pm since I need to send DD for her tuition and fetch her sister at BTS..hurmss..ngam2 je pukul 8 timer tu pun ringggg..so me pun bukak sikit pintu oven tu tapi terlupa nak off kan oven.. terus merempit..hahahaha..balik2 ajer..adalah dalam sejam..sib baik tak hangus..hiks..anyway rasa dia memang sedap sebab crunchy outside and soft like marshmallow inside, blend very well with fresh cream and fresh fruits *yummeh*
